Spam coming through Archon

Postby hcea » Wed Aug 28, 2013 10:42 am

Running V2.20 on Internet Explorer 8.0, Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.

I came in from four days out of the office to find over 500 messages in my inbox. Most were something like this:

<snip>

???? ????? ?? <pnuslzr@gmail.com> has sent a message:

I'm curious to find out what blog platform you happen to be working with? I'm experiencing some minor security issues with my latest website and I would like to find something more safe. Do you have any solutions?
<a href="http://www.raybansjp.net/????-?????-??-c-3.html" >???? ????? ??</a> ???? ????? ??

The visitor was at archives.hcea.net/?p=collections/classifications when he/she clicked the link to send an email.

If you would like to contact the visitor by phone, the number is ???? ????? ??.

<snip>

These messages came in several spurts at rtandom times yesterday and the day before, dozens at a time. Why is it happening, and how do I stop it?

For whatever reason, the problem went away overnight last night. I never got a response from anyone about it.
