Accession Title

Postby Tom Steman » Tue May 19, 2009 2:20 pm

New to Archon, glad to be using it.

We are entering our information into Archon, including accessions. When creating accession records in Accessions Manager, one must enter a unique title in the title field. Working at a university archives, we often have the same offices transferring records to us. For example, Affirmative Action. The title would be entered as "Records of Affirmative Action." Unfortunately, as Archon is set up now, that is only time I can use the title. Can this be changed? So, maybe the identifier (which is the accession number) has to be unique instead of the title?

I have a work-around to this (like adding the accession number to the title), so its working.

We are experiencing a similar issue at my institution. While every accession gets a unique numerical identifier, multiple accessions from the same person or group are often received, and given the same name.

It would also be great to be able to sort Accessions by number, but i'll add this to the suggestion forum!
