How to change breadcrumbs and add a contact us form

Postby Dhanushka » Thu Jul 19, 2012 2:49 pm

1) I would like to change 'Archon' in the breadcrumbs to 'Department Holdings' I did this by editing the header.inc.php in my theme.
<div id="breadcrumbblock">
<span class='bold'>Location: </span>
<?php
//echo($_ARCHON->PublicInterface->createNavigation());
$breadCrumb = $_ARCHON->PublicInterface->createNavigation();
$breadCrumb = str_replace('Archon', 'Department Holdings', $breadCrumb);
echo $breadCrumb;
?>
</div>

Is there a better way of doing it?

2) I want to get a contact us form similar to what's in this site. http://fsuarchon.fcla.edu/
By looking at the url it looks like it's an internal archon feature that I can enable. But I can't find a setting like that. Can someone please point me to the right direction?

You are doing the right thing. You can edit header.inc.php or any other files in your theme to your heart's content, without worrying about breaking the output across upgrades.

In re: the contact us form, I believe you could add a link to the similar page in your contact us form. That is built into Archon by default, and will work on our server as long as the PHP emial function is configured correctly in the base PHP install--which it usually is.
