How to run multiple versions of IE on a single PC

Postby paulnsorensen » Tue Apr 15, 2008 12:42 pm

For development and debugging purposes, one can run standalone versions of Internet Explorer alongside the current IE7 release on the same Windows PC.

NOTE: The following website is not maintained by anyone from the Archon team, and we can in no way provide quality assurance for this software. I took the time to scan the file for viruses before I uncompressed it and before I ran it, and I highly recommend you do the same because one can never be too safe on the net.

  1. Browse to and select your desired IE version.
  2. Save the file to disk, and extract it to a folder.
  3. Double click the iexplore.exe and your desired IE version should open with a new window.

The README file located at the website:

These standalone versions of Internet Explorer are made available for
testing purposes only, and do not come with any form of warranty or
support. They are designed to be used in parallel to test websites with
different versions simultaneously.

I hope this guide is helpful!
