Usergroup viewing locations dropdown problem

Postby slknight » Thu Jan 10, 2013 6:48 pm

Users in the usergroup Users can no longer see the list of locations in collection manager. The administrator user in the administrator group has no problems. The link below is for a screenshot of the spot where Users cannot view locations. The "please wait" circle spins forever and nothing loads:

I believe this problem popped up after some server updates. We are running Ubuntu 12.04.01 LTS. A problem with the password hash length was discovered around the same time as the usergroup problem described above. This has been fixed so that users can log in, but it may be related.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Stacey,

While it is possible this is related to the Ubuntu upgrade, I kind of doubt it. One thing to check is the advanced permissions editor for the 'users' group, please make sure they have read access to the location manager, as per attached screenshot. This got to be a problem in that in some versions of archon, read persmission was not formally required to display the locations in the dropdown.
