Creating Finding Aid on Archon

Postby vinvin212 » Tue Jan 29, 2013 11:51 am

Hello. I'm completely new to Archon, although the institution I am interning at has been using it for a while. I'm creating a finding aid on Archon, but my supervisor is having me create the box and folder lists by "adding sibling" and then copy/pasting each folder name and date. Not only is this very time consuming, it is also tedious. My supervisor mentioned an import method and I read on google about CSV, but I am completely lost. Is there a better way to go about creating the finding aid for Archon? I'd love to learn how.

Thanks in advance.

In short, throughout the processing of this collection, I seem to have written and typed out the folder names and dates nearly 3 times. I'm trying to find a way to streamline this process for the department.

Here's the link to information on importing CSV files, including excel templates for the ‘incoming’ folder on the webserver.

Hope this is helpful.
