How to handle collections with mutlipel units of measure?

Postby hcea » Wed Oct 31, 2007 11:34 am

The Extent Units Manager is used to set a unit of measurement for a collection, such as cubic or lineal feet, boxes, cubits or what have you. Several of our collections include large quantities of oversize documents such as engineering drawings and mounted photos. Others include artifacts.

It would be convenient to be able to indicate in the "extent" field that records in a collection exist in more than one "extent," such as boxes for some records and lineal feet for the drawings. Is there, or will there be, a way of doing this?
The Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and documenting for public education the history of the construction, dredging and surface mining equipment industries.
