3.21 upgrade; public page nearly blank

Postby mlevy » Tue Apr 03, 2012 5:04 pm

I have completed an upgrade to 3.21. As far as I can tell from the Archon Administration page, the upgrade went perfectly fine. I can do all the things you'd expect in the Administrator including viewing existing users, table structure, the whole admin interface. I cannot see anything wrong with the administrator tools or the database. I did rename packages/core/install/install.php

However when I try to browse to http://mysubdomain.mydomain/mypath, I see only a white page with the text below -- same on Chrome, Firefox, IE, and viewing source doesn't show anything except what I'm showing below.

Page Generated in: 0.113 seconds (using 70 queries).
Using 8.28MB of memory. (Peak of 8.37MB.)

The totality of the actual HTML delivered is below. Note, there is nothing about the <div> tag, and the left angle bracking before /html> really is missing.

<div id="archoninfo">

</div>
</body>

I'm running RHEL Linux, Apache/2.2.15 (Red Hat), PHP 5.3.3. I think most of the basic requirements must have been met, or else I could not have successfully gone through all the install/upgrade processes. This must be fairly weird or else I would have seen similar messages before. I just upgraded from Archon 2.22. Any help apprciated!

Solved.

I had not copied my custom theme to the new application. Attempting to view the home page of the application failed as described -- with no error message in the web log, so I did not know where to start. It was not until I tried to view a page from the administrator using the "Public View" link that I saw in the php error_log the "File does not exist:...." path "...../themes/mythemename..." error and figured out what the problem was. The administrator had not theme selected; using the administrator to select an existing theme (or my own theme copied over) fixed this issue.
